In 1982, Mike Prestwich, the company's founder, had developed a term insurance plus annuity illustration system that the agents in his agency were using to market ITT Life's products. This system was so successful that ITT Life wanted to make it available for all of its agents, with the condition that Specialists in Financial Planning, Inc. would change its direction from an insurance, annuity, and mutual fund marketing company to a full-time software development company specializing in products for the life insurance industry. Within a year they had sold this system to ITT Life, Pioneer Life of Illinois, and Home Security Life.

In 1983 they developed a Universal Life Illustration System for Kemper Investors Life. In 1984 Allstate Life Insurance Company purchased their Universal Life, Term, and Annuity software. In 1995 we converted most of our DOS software products to the Windows platform.
